SongSheet Pro import and export formats

SongSheet Pro works hard to have maximum connectivity with other apps. Sometimes you have been given a song by someone who does not have SongSheet Pro, or you want to share one of your songs with them. Or maybe you need to quickly print out a setlist, or send it to a bandmate also using SongSheet Pro. Or maybe someone likes a theme you’ve set up, so you choose to share it with them. Whatever the purpose, SongSheet Pro has a handy import or export format for you!

Song import and export formats

Main article: Share, export, and print songs

SongSheet Pro can import songs from and export songs to the following formats:

If you are moving from OnSong, see Switching from OnSong to SongSheet Pro for what transfers, what usually needs rebuilding, and how to test the migration with a small batch of songs.

Setlist import and export formats

Main article: Share, export, and print setlists

SongSheet Pro can import setlists from other SongSheet Pro users. It can also export setlists to the following formats:

  • SongSheet (Import and Export)
  • OnSong archive (.onsongarchive) and backup (.backup) files (Import only)
  • ChordPro (Export only)
  • PDF (Export only)
  • CSV (Export only)

CSV export

A song list, a selection of songs, or a setlist can be exported as a CSV file for use in a spreadsheet. The first row holds the column names in English. Each row after it is one song, with these columns:

Column name Contents
title Title
artist Artist
composer Composer
lyricist Lyricist
arranger Arranger
year Year
key Key
capo Capo
timeSignature Time signature
tempo Tempo
autoScrollDuration Duration in seconds, or blank if the song has no duration
ccliSongNumber CCLI song number
copyright Copyright
isFavorite Favorite: true or false
isFlagged Flagged: true or false
tags Tags, in alphabetical order, separated by commas. A comma or backslash inside a tag name has a backslash before it

Song notes are not exported.

A setlist has one row for each entry, in order, so a song that appears twice is listed twice. The file does not include set dividers, so there is nothing to show where one set ends and the next begins. CSV files cannot be imported back into SongSheet Pro.

Theme import and export formats

Main article: Sharing Themes

SongSheet Pro can send and receive themes from other SongSheet Pro users. SongSheet Pro does not import themes from, or export themes to other app formats.

Library backup format

Main article: Back up and restore

The complete contents of a SongSheet Pro library (songs, setlists, tags, and themes) can be exported into a .songsheet-backup file. Restoring a backup replaces the existing library.
