Keyboard shortcuts

SongSheet Pro has many custom keyboard shortcuts to ease your navigation within the app. This page outlines the app-specific shortcuts available to you if you are using an external keyboard.

If you are on iOS 18 or earlier, press and hold ⌘ (the command key) for three seconds, and a handy window will pop up summarizing the shortcuts available within the app. For iOS 26 or later, press and hold 🌐 (the globe key) or swipe down from the top of the screen, and the menu bar will open, allowing you to see the iPad’s system keyboard shortcuts.

Navigation shortcuts:

Shortcut	Action
⌘N	Create a new song
⇧⌘N	Create a new setlist
⌘E	Toggle song edit mode
⇧⌘D	Share the currently selected song
⌘P	Open the Print/PDF Preview for the currently selected song
⌘.	Exit song view and return to Library view (iOS 18)
⎋	Exit song view and return to Library view
⌃⌘S	Show/Hide sidebar

When editing a song:

Shortcut	Action
⇧⌘L	Format line as lyrics
⇧⌘C	Format line as comment
⌥⇧⌘L	Format stanza as lyrics
⌥⇧⌘T	Format stanza as tablature
⌘R	Rename current stanza
⌘S	Select the chord at the current cursor location

When a chord is selected:

Shortcut	Action
◀︎	Move the chord left one character
▶︎	Move the chord right one character
⌫	Delete the chord
⌘D	Deselect the chord
⌘.	Deselect the chord
esc	Deselect the chord
⇧⌘C	Enter a custom chord name
⌘↩	Apply changes to the chord

Interacting with the song:

Shortcut	Action
.	Set or remove favorite status on a song
F	Set or remove flag status on a song

The following shortcuts are configurable in SongSheet Pro’s settings:

Shortcut	Action
◀︎	Move to the previous song in the library or setlist
▶︎	Move to the next song in the library or setlist
▲	Go to the previous stanza
▼	Go to the next stanza

When working with autoscroll or a backing track:

Shortcut	Action
▲	Jump backward 10 seconds
▼	Jump forward 10 seconds

The following shortcuts are configurable in SongSheet Pro’s settings:

space	Play or pause the autoscroll or backing track

Built-in formatting shortcuts:
